Coaching with OMAR
Train with Australia's greatest modern lawn bowler. World champion. Inaugural World Number One. Now sharing expert knowledge with players who want to reach the next level.
Born on 29 October 1985, Aron Sherriff began his journey with lawn bowls at age 11 at Halekulani Bowling Club on the New South Wales Central Coast. The sport ran deep in his family — with his mother, father, sister, wife and in-laws all playing the game.
He made his Australian debut in 2007, immediately winning gold in the World Team Cup at Tweed Heads. What followed was one of the most decorated international careers the sport has ever seen — 429 caps in the green and gold of the Australian Jackaroos, three World Championship gold medals, Commonwealth Games medals across multiple editions, and six Bowls Australia International Bowler of the Year awards.
Known for his composure under pressure and technically precise delivery, Aron's coaching style is built on the same principles that made him the world's best: rigorous preparation, mental discipline, and an unwavering focus on the fundamentals. He is now based at Broadbeach Bowls Club on the Gold Coast.
In October 2024, after reaching World Number One — the first player ever to hold that title — Aron retired from international competition. His next chapter is coaching the next generation of champions.
